TPC Alert Manager is an automated management tool for multi-vendor storage environments. It provides clients with the most comprehensive and transparent view of their storage infrastructure available, and allows them to easily build reliable and fully optimised high performance storage infrastructures.

Traditionally, storage resource management tools are provided by each individual vendor for the various hardware appliances comprising the storage infrastructure. IBM’s Tivoli Storage Productivity Center (TPC) software centralizes this management into a single platform provided through a single interface. It enables clients to reduce the complexity of managing their storage environment by centralizing, simplifying and automating tasks associated with storage systems, storage networks, replication services and capacity management. Reports on data, disk fabric and filesystems for the entire storage infrastructure are available in one place.

And through the integration with Predatar Ticket Tracker in V3.1, TPC Alert Manager enables proactive problem discovery across the storage environment. Based upon previously defined thresholds of customizable alerts for hundreds of different storage events, an incident is automatically raised through the Predatar online portal when there is an issue you need to know about. The resulting ticket can then be managed and resolved quickly, either in-house or through a 3rd party support provider.
